Tough Love
When pecola had to be with her family, having to work with her family getting coal by the railroads. Claudia tells in the book how grown ups treat kids like slaves. she also talks about a man named mr. Henry they loved very much. This means there was alot of tough love in the book. How parents in this story act are way different from times now. Just like how claudia mom and dad didnt really care about her as long as she did what they told her to do. which is really wrong from my aspect. Now a days if you treat children like that now you couls get abuse chargers pressed on you. i dont think claudia had no choose but do what her parents said because if she didnt do it she would have got the living crap beat out of her. so in this book it was showing sexual initiation and abuse because pecolas dad had raped her, and clausia and frieda tried to help her get out of the house she was living in because she found out she was preganant by her dad. But she did not want to get an abortion so she moved in with claudia and frieda .But when she had her baby it did not servive but moments after it was born. Another thing in this book is Mr.Henry touched frieda on her chest. So frieda told her dad he went to beat Mr. Henry up. An after friedas dad bet mr. henry up he never layed a hand on freida ever again. After that mr.henry must have moved away cause he was never heard in the book no more. Seeing vs. Being seen
You can also explain being put in someone else shoes tosee there point of view. i can put myself in there shoes as well. When pecola got raped by her dad she probably felt really bad beacause that her dad. She probably felt hurt and Humiliated, because how everybody is going to show hatred towards her, because they probably feel she was being fast. She now wishes she had those blue eyes, so she could be treated like the blue eyed blonde little girls, and wishes the situation more happend. i know if i was in her shoes i would feel really bad because it pituful that your own dad would do that. i would probably go crazy and go back and kill him. But i guess when your in that kind of situation you have no choice but to go along with it or you will get the crap beat out of you.
